The car is worth it for just the bumpers.... also seems to have some sort of bodykit on it.

Not diesel...

...it states 280SEL which would mean an M110 under the hood. Good engine, easy to work on (lots of elbow room in the engine compartment). In a 116 SEL its a reasonable engine - no bragging off the line but startling acceleration in mid range + up (this based on my 126 280SEL which can't be too far off as to weight).

Pretty rare stateside but as I recall, fairly stout production numbers for Europe due to the high tax on vehicles with engines over 2800c (somebody smarter than me can verify or correct me here!).

I'd be all over it if it were closer and I didn't already have 7 MBs - 6 too many according to the spousal unit (how does she figure )

Kevin

P.S. - time to update my signature eh?

looks like my old 280e

I had a euro 280e (1981, IIRC), which was a very quick car. It had a 123 chassis. This looks just like it. Could be a misprint. Would be a great buy. Only problem I had was my state's motor vehicle department wouldn't register for a long time because it had a euro VIN.

Can't be sure...

but I think its a 116 (photo not too good on my computer). Looking at the side trim, on the 123 the trim is much higher on the doors/fenders. I can't tell if the "bumperettes" of the 116 are there.

Should be the same engine though...

no it is def

a 116.

i drove one once with the euro 280. it was surprising ly quick. that looks pretty nice,... you know as much as you can tell from one pic. it has a non stock appearing lip on the lower valance in front. looks pretty cool.

i bet there is more than a filter needed. you never know though.
