Underdescribed, price high, bad time to sell

No offense, but price is set WAAAY too high.

Bad time to sell cause gas prices through the roof.

I'd try for $3200 or best offer over $3k

Got the dual row timing chain conversion? This one is a deal breaker or maker but the buyer needs to know and the answer has to be YES!

Stocker bundt cake wheels? Or rims, describe aftermarket? Tires good, how new, what brand how many miles on them?

Do you have all books stamped and full main Mercedes main dealer service history? No rust, what major services recently done, garaged, bone stock or pimped up, air con, electrics OK, what ICE has it got? Glass and chrome good? Give us a good picture, prepurchase inspection encouraged, where are you located? Car accident free: then say so if it is

What is condition of interior, carpets, headliner? Aftermarket alarm, central locking?

Unfortunately the 380 is the slowest of all of the SECs, with only 155 hp, so least desireable of them.

What color exterior/ interior IE Smoke silver/red. black/black etc. Very important to know to get a mental picture of the car THIS goes at the FRONT of your ad, with the mileage

Smpg test certificate provided by you if needed?

Way too nice to give away or donate to charity

Let's see what you have here

More advice for you

More

If you got the car up on ebay, maybe you can add TO the description as seller: Ie ON 5-2-05 the seller added the following information; some of the stuff you mentioned at the first are highly desireable, but vague plusses.

Also, how about checking some o f the other ads for the same kind of car, look for some florid prose, the SEC will be the envy of your neighbors, you will cruise down the highway as a king, this is the flagship of the Benz line, cost new $55k in 83, now yours for a fraction, the cars run to absured miles, 6oo 000 miles and up. Will help with shipping, emai with all questions but it is a 23 year old year car and cant give guarantee.

I havent checked your ebay ad, but here you come off as a bit uninformed, and unrealistic. Let's change all that and get a good sale

Looked at ebay, my reactions now

OK I checked t he ebay ad Roger, the auction is over and at $5000 you won't sell? You have a bid for that. I don't know where you get the market value at up to $9000 to $12000 is way off especially with gas prices today.

You are honestly describing the car and it is a GREAT example, all the right stuff seems to have been already done, the miles are good maybe $4000 to $5000 would move it.

What was your reserve ?

The market price is what a willing buyer would pay - how much more than $5000 would you need?

Would you contact the highest bidders by emailand give them a 2nd chance to get the car?

Im stumped.

Hey Jim,

Thanks for all the great input!! I contacted the high bidder but he couldnt make the deal. I posted the reserve high just to see what the market will bear. I would easily have taken the final bid, but............. Where else would you think i could advertise the car, collector car trader has been an unpleasant experience.

Thanks again, Roger.
BTW: will be relisted on ebay today with the "new and improved" reserve.

If I had the room...I think you could get a better price/offers if you assigned a value to the services that have been done.
