Hi all,

I'm new to the forum, and I am seeking leads and/or advice about buying. I live in Houston, TX. I have not exhausted the local resources yet, but I thought I'd get some feelers out.

I am interested in a diesel, preferably a 300SD, but I will also consider a 300D. My budget right now is $4000-5000.

My criteria first and foremost is that the candidate does not require any major maintenance or repairs. I suppose that would include engine, transmission and suspension. I cannot live withouth A/C in Houston, so that is next on the list. I need a daily driver that is reliable and safe for transporting my kids.

I hope that is not wishful thinking, as I believe it still leaves a good deal of latitude for things like paint and interior condition. I can tolerate certain minor items that require fixing.
