1986 300E 5speed

This car came out of a private collection in Virginia. The odometer shows just over 98K miles, but has somewhat less than that on the motor since it was towed behind a motor home every year. I got it through a broker, who of course threw away all reciepts, but I was able to hunt down the past owner and get it's history from new.
The car's color is champagne with the palomino interior. There is one tiny ding on the body. I can't remember where, but I feel it when I wax it. The interior still has that "old Mercedes" smell and is flawless, other than a slight separation on the driver's bolster and superficial cracking on the center console clearcoat. Appearance-wise this car is a 9 out of 10.
This car was spec built on the line in Germany for the customer and was imported through the MB dealership in VA. I have the original window sticker. Also, the outside temp and heat controls are in Celsius.
Mechanically, the car is very fit. Because of the towing, the transmission eventually failed and was replaced, (along with the clutch) several thousand miles ago with brand new components, not rebuilt. The car has already had the big AC job, (dash removal et al) and converted to R-134. It works very well. Brake system is new from booster and master forward, with Brembo rotors up front. Also new-radiator, Bosche battery, motor mounts, engine management system and slightly wider stock appearing wheels from Adsit. The car now meets current emission standards for Atlanta metro, (some of the most stringent in the nation. Readings are less than half of allowable in all catagories. All electrics work properly other than cruise control. Engine compartment is kept clean and waxed, only flaw is the engine blanket needs replacement.
As you can tell, this car has always been doted upon, kept in climate control when not in use and I hope the next owner has the same interest in maintainence that we did.
I have lots of pix and can always take more, just ask. Local folks in Atlanta and surrounding areas are encouraged to come see/drive this car. I'll have to email pix direct to you, my file sizes are too big. The car is advertised in the autotrader with pix for $6000.

Fair warning to all those that think you can tow a manual transmission car with the drive wheels on the ground!
