1981 240 D is on the market!

Good afternoon gentleman.
A few weeks ago one of my very good friends past away.He had several vehicules and most of them are sold now.But his wife wants to sell the 1981 240D that he had.It is white with a tan interior and he was the second owner of the car.It was always maintained at a Mercedes Benz dealership here in Vancouver Canada with all of the paper work to prove it.The millage is very low 110,000 KM or aprox 66.000 miles.No rust at all. Its a beauty!
Does anyone know what we would get for this car? And is anyone interrested?If so send me an email and I will get back to you ASAP.
Best regards
Dan

Some on eBay are supposedly fetching way over $6000.00 for low milage cream puffs.

There's a growing market for good, solid diesels today.

condition = value

In many years of tracking auctions and locating benz, I cannot recall seeing a single example of a $6000 sale on that vintage model with this amount of mileage.

Value is dependant upon the overall condition, as well as the recentcy and detail level of maintenance and care, as well as well-documented repairs.

As a buyer, an average 300K mile car should be around $2500 to 3500 depending on repairs and maintenance that have been done, as well as understanding what repairs/replacements have NOT yet been accomplished. I have seen 130-150K mileage models in the bid ballpark of $6K, under 100K miles the bids are more like $6500 to 11,500...not positive the sales were ever actually completed... Got any pictures and more details? I'm sure folks on this site can help establish a valid approximate value.:D :D :D Or you can post it for a best offer auction and let the market establish your sale price.

Good luck and regards,

Your quite right Bama1, eBay is short of that bracket....
As you said, the 240D, are conciderably lower, although they seem to be creeping up.
However, in my defence...AND with a few more miles, lookee here...

sigh

How I would love that car. Sigh. I'm even in BC. Gotta fix my junker first. I'd consider trading my '89 camry wagon with 220K for it.
