1978 240D Manual
After all the work I put into this car I need to sell it. I found a sweet 300SD that I can’t pass on so the 240 has to go.
This car is my project car. Runs good except for a little bit of a shake when cold. This would be a great car for someone to convert to WVO and learn a lot about Mercedes Diesel along the way. Here are the details: 1978 240D 200k (plus) miles 4 speed power windows all work except the driver rear. The good: 4 brand new tires less than 100 miles on them New front wheel bearings Rebuilt front calipers Rebuilt rear calipers all new brake pads at all 4 wheels. New rear rotors new front rotors New motor mounts 1 new injector all new v-belts No oil leaks Heat works great New air filter, fuel filters, fuel hoses under hood Transmission fluid and rear axle fluid changed less than 100 miles ago I used sound dampening material allover this car (huge improvement) The bad: Paint is rough Rust in the passenger floor board was bad and I cut it out and replaced with sheet metal The interior is in bad shape. I replaced the 2 front original seats with some 300D wagon seats that are in good shape The back seat is missing The front and rear window seals leak water I replaced the carpet with black vinyl in the front never finished the back seat area The headliner in missing Dash is cracked A/C was charged with gas and got down to 40 degrees next day all gas had leaked out. Exhaust is ugly but hanging in there for now. $1000 car is located in Greensboro North Carolina Contact me by email at Earlybronco@triad.rr.com |
Do you gnaw on the shift knob when you're bored in traffic?

OUCH!
Sorry man for $750 its not worth it. My dad bought his 78 300D in much better condition even with the high mileage for $750. With everything working except for the passanger window. Id say parts that car out and make your money that way, its too beat. |
