This is a tough crowd. I feel like most of the people who post here are pretty honest and forthcoming. There are also a lot of people herre who know a helluva lot more than I do about MB's. They're not going to let you off the hook easily on things they know from experience to be issues with these cars.

That's why I'm on here as often as time permits. I would hope the guy I'm buying a car from is making his money from being a shrewd BUYER in the first place, rather than hoping to profit from my inexperience and/or ignorance.

It is frustrating to me that I have become an outsider on this forum. Many people here and other places respect my opinions about Mercedes cars(especially the 16v). I guess places change.
Before I bought this car I looked at cars that were for sale here, 3 actually. I even drove 6.5 hours to look at a TE. Only to find that the seller had just flat out lied about the car, and then was pissed that I didn't take it home. This car was so bad I didn't even make him an offer, I just shook my head and drove away. Did I then get on this forum and call him a liar? No, I just kept looking.
People who ask questions get answers, but people who have no interest and waste my time get my scorn.
I will loose at least a grand on this car. The BBS RG's alone are worth $1000, they were BenzMacs from his 16v. Plus $1800 in reciepts for parts in the time I've owned it. I just bought another car and this one needs to go. Not trying to profit or even break even. This car has another 250K in it.
