FYI, I'm one of the moderators in the W126 section over at BenzWorld and Bruce has been a long time member and posts often over there. I've corresponded with him several time and also bought some things and can say he's a down-to-earth straight up guy. If anyone was looking for a nice W126, be it AMG or stock, he's the guy to talk to.

Mercedesshop is kinda shady

I have relatives that live in Miami. On my last visit I took a drive up to visit Mercedesshowroom in Ft. Lauderdale. At the time they had a 300CD Turbo in Manilla and the Black fintail diesel. The 300CD looked flawless in pictures, but upon closer inspection it was not nearly as nice as it looked. Still a cleaner than average w123 but certainly not clean enough to warrant their asking price. The fintail was far from show shape... the body was far from straight and there were some areas showing rust growth. The paint was fair.

I would be VERY hesitant to buy a car from them unless you can inspect it in person, and it has a detailed history. They arent very negotiable on prices, and if you look hard enough I'll guarantee youll find a nicer car than many of the cars on their lot on your own being sold by a private party.

Ft Lauderdale Mercedes

I too, talked to this guy when I first began searching for a car. (SL) He is not of the highest caliber.

My problem was the VIN numbers which define paint color etc. didn't match the actual on the floor auto.

Caveat emptor as someone already stated.

Typical Checked jacket cigar smoking old time used car scammer! IMHO

Hey, BruceM. Not for nothing, but if you sell 5 cars a year and make money....you're a dealer! you may not be a legal dealer but you're making money out of flipping cars. doesn't really make much difference to me, but lets get real...i'm sure you sell nice stuff, but listening to what you say you're more active than some dealers! why pretend?

Your opinion is your opinion. I am not a dealer, and lose plenty of money on cars.

But what does that have to do with anything, and why are you responding to my post from six months ago and deciding that I am a dealer?

Pardon my ignorance if I'm wrong, but I thought that "curbstoning" is when you don't title the car, but buy/sell as a private individual without ever legally titling the car.

I've never sold a car to Bruce, nor bought a car from him. I personally don't know him. But as a long time member here and over at Benzworld and other sites I can say that Bruce has earned the respect of those that have had dealings with him, or listened to/read his posts. I'm a firm believer in holding respect until someone earns it, and having a great deal of doubt until something is proven. The strict definition of a dealer may or may not include what Bruce does, I don't know. I do know that of those that seem to know him, they do not think of him as a dealer, but a collector/enthusiaist that has a great deal of knowledge of the high end w126 and other MB's.
