Selling my 500E
 

Sadly, very sadly, I have to sell my 500E. There is no deferred maintenance, and all the 500E "issues" have been dealt with. Although it has high mileage, 176xxx miles, almost all of the "consumables" have been replaced, including the transmission, a/c compressor, alternator, starter, power steering pump, ALL hoses and belts, wiring harness (while still under warranty), the dreaded throttle body actuator ($1200 for the part), and so on. Oh, and I just installed a new battery and new ultra-high performance tires (17" AMG wheels).
The downside is that, although the paint is still shiny, the clear coat has worn through in a few places on the hood and on the roof. The interior is almost perfect, except for a crack in the finish on the back seat divider/sliding door. And an aftermarket cupholder needs replacing.
I've been, like most of us on this site, anal in upkeep and preventive maintainance, but because its been my daily driver and not a garage queen, she shows her age a bit, kind of like a movie star in her late thirties - a few wrinkles, but she can still really get your heat rate up!
I'm asking $14,500 on craigslist bay area http://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/car/242678793.html (i have photos up on the site), but I will take $12,000 from a lister or friend. I know its Christmas, but I promised my GF that we would go to Asia in January, and this is how we're paying for the trip, so I HAVE to sell her before the middle of January.

Recent 500E sale.
 

Just sold (Picked up 3 days ago) was a 1992 500E in Spruce Green (E-bay item 290052874089). Sold for I between $9500 and $9800, 111,000 miles, and you could eat off the carpets... and the rest of the car was as equally as clean... with all the 500E issues taken care of...

Just FYI.

Sounds like a decent example of a 500E driver though....
