92 500E for sale

1 Attachment(s)
With great regret, I am selling my 92 500E., pearl Black/Grey interior. I've had the urge to go back to two-seater, drop-top fun, and I recently acquired a Miata. Before all of you laugh, I've had more fun driving that car; it's like a motorized skateboard. Unfortunately, I cannot afford to keep and insure two cars, and I promised my girlfriend I would go to Asia with her in January, so in order to finance the trip, the Benz has to go.
I've loved this car, and expected it to be my last car for a long time, so I have spared no expense in upkeep. there is no deferred maintenance. In fact, all of the 500E "issues" have been dealt with, including timing chain, upper and lower rails, valves, throttle body actuator, power steering pump, rear suspension, $3000 worth of A/C work, rebuilt transmission, and just about every other "consumable" that needs replacing from between 100 - 200,000 miles - alternator, starter, all hoses, and a myriad of other things I can't remember right now, including a new battery and brand-new ultra high-performance tires on 17” AMG wheels. Although it has 176,000 miles, all the work has been done for the next owner to enjoy another 100,000 miles. I have around $17,000 in receipts for work done in the last two years.
I have driven 80,000 miles in the last 4 years, almost all highway miles, visiting my girlfriend. I live 2 blocks from work, so these are not commute miles.
The interior is almost perfect, and the paint is still shiny – the only flaw is a few spots where the clearcoat has worn away on the hood, and some road rash at one of the rear wheelwells.

Please either e-mail me or call me at 415 302 2226. Please call only if you are interested in the car.

That's a really nice oak tree in front of your house.

I'm not a Botanist, but it looks like a California Live Oak to me.

Sorry Paul, if there is such a thing, I've never seen it. All I am familiar with is the tall straight oaks back east here. That looks like a Bonzai to me.:D

They're actually all over the place in California dotting the hillsides:

Yeah, I started to feel bad about changing the topic to Oak trees.

At least it puts the thread back to the top, and it sure is a beautiful 500E.

If this car was on the market a year ago at that price, I would've bought it in place of my E430. I guess timing is everything. :D
