Any transmission work done and how about timing chain and valve guides?

I do not have all of the records for the car.

I have no record or any trans work other than flushes.

Timing Chain and guides have been done, but I don't know at what mileage. It was estimated to have been done at 130k by po.

I too am shocked at what people offer. Just redoing the rear suspension cost me more than most offers I receive. It is a shame that many people don't realize the value of a maintained rust free car. With the market like this many of these older W126s are worth more in parts! :)

But your car is not rust free.

Your ebay description says, "only ` dime sized rust bubble above the cladding on the RR door. It is not rust through and could easily be repaired. "

I should say virtually rust free. It does have that one spot.

If you'd like to come visit me in Chicago you can see first hand how most late 80's W126 are doing here. They are all rusty junk. My last 85 300SD (bought for $250) had more holes than a block of swiss cheese!

I can't understand why your car hasn't sold either. The price seems fine to me. If I was in the market for a clean 560SEL with as much maintenance as yours has had, I'd have bought it.

If it were in PA, or within a 2 hour drive from me (one way) I'd have bought it by now.

I dont know if that's any consolation or not :D
