I own a factory tuned 190E that was also owned by AMG(1st owner) until 1994. Same deal as the 300e... its got the bodykit, suspension, exhaust, wheels, interior wood work, steering wheel, etc as well as factory sportline seats and whats left of the sportline manual 5 speed gear knob. The suspension is AMG as it has the AMG part number on the springs. I, too, have the paperwork from AMG showing what exactly was ordered to tune the car up... and the engine was not worked on. However, according to the documents needed to register the car.. it did gain some hp due to the exhaust system. Even without the engine work... my car is considered an original AMG. As long as the car has several original and period correct mods... I consider it an AMG. Just my 2 cents...

I hope your car sells for what you are looking to get for it. It's a "specialty" car- some one's gotta want a car like that. It's not for the masses and I think that'll hurt what you think the value is. It's a 15 year old 6 cylinder w124. There is a 500E listed here that cant sell for $8000 in what the owner claims is very good shape. If the car had 100K less miles it might sell for $12-14K. It'll be interesting to see what your car does sell for- you do seem to keep it nice!
