Selling my 300SD.....

I'm going to be selling my 82 300SD and wanted to let you all know as I want it to go to a good home.

The auction hasn't started yet but if anyone sees any errors on my part or something I need to know, I would appreciate it. If anyone wants to make an offer, also, let me know.

If anyone wants to drive it or inspect it, that can be arranged as well. It is showing it's years but the frame, motor (yes I said motor and not engine) and transmission are all sound I believe. It does shift a little soft when cold.

The auction is not scheduled to start yet so you may not be able to see it. I'll bump this post when it goes active.

Copy and paste the details so we can check it out:) There's someone actively searching on this forum for a car of this type.

Here's the text:

Mercedes diesel for sale.
The is basically a solid diesel with some cosmetic issues. I'll list the good and the bad. I bought it for $4000 18 months ago and have since upgraded. According to my neighbors, I have to get rid of one of my 5 cars.

The good:
Since I purchased it, I have done the following:
- A/C WORKS! Yes, kind of rare but I changed all the Orings with Nitrile rings. Filled with Oil and Freeze12.
- new tires
- new exhaust
- new glow plugs and relay
- new driver's motor mount
- new motor shocks on both side
- resealed both the back and front windows
- new truck seal
- replaced the dash wood
- replaced many of the interior plastic
- replaced the shocks
- replace the front wheel bearings
- replaced the brake pads front and back
- upgraded the radio to a Sony, amp to Infinity and speakers to Infinity Kappas
- regular oil changes, diesel purge and filter replacements.
- original receipts and service book (filled out), receipts for the work I did
- radiator hose style block heater installed

The bad:

The clear coat is bubbling and will need to be redone.
The fender behind the passenger rear wheel is rusted. I haven't had the time to fix it.
Some of the plastic is pealing and should be replaced
Far right dash wood over the vent could be replaced.
Diesel return lines are weeping.
Passenger power seat not working
Needs an alignment, I believe the tie rod ends should be replaced.
Tach does not work.
Trunk leak - it's either through the badges or rear tail lights, a common problem but I haven't gotten to it yet, no rust though other than surface rust (I checked).

It's a very dependable car. I've driven it almost exclusively on the highway. It will start down to 18 degrees without the block heater being plugged in. With it plugged in, I've never had a problem. With a new paint job, some interior work and some minor mechanical work, this could be a beautiful car. It's killing me to sell it but I have no choice. I just want to get some of what I paid for it. The price on this car is low so it will move.

I'm selling this car for much less than I paid and MUCH less than I put into it.

Get rid of a few cars, not ride of a few. :)

This listing has started if anyone is interested.

Looks like a decent car for a fair enough price, but why in the heck would you not pick the trash up out of the floor of the car before pics? That alone could cost you hundreds. Man, pick up the trash and run a quick vacuum. It would have helped you, I promise....;)

To be quite honest, I work the midnight shift and my 16 year old daughter was supposed to clean it for me. When I took the pictures, I was about to drop from being tired. I will clean the car before I pass it on. Don't worry, it's not indicative of how it was cared for. I've run 2 diesel purges through it and replaced the fuel filters and oil regularly.
