How much is the shipping cost to Baltimore?

Roughly $2100, as is almost all of the East Coast, that's for a closed container shipment

That's a lot of money. I have a friend who'd like one of these cars very much, he's driven mine a few times. But I think that shipping cost would put him off. Shame.

$2k for enclosed transport coast to coast is cheap. Last time I got a quote, I think it was over $3k. Only idiot buyers would back out due to a $2k transport charge. You have to figure transport into the price of the car. So the car ends up being $16k instead of $14k? Waaaaaaah! They can keep driving 300E's instead of the ultimate 124. Their loss, not yours. I've seen a number of 500E's and E500's in the $20-$25k range recently. Your price is definitely within reason. Maybe thanks to all the flakers, you'll be able to keep the car after all!

:thinking2

I'm not saying that's expensive for the transport. For enclosed coast to coast transport, that's not alot. I paid $800 from Cincy to Philly.

And remember, in the $14k asking price I'm including West Coast shipping, which is about $1000, so really I'm just asking $13,000, so with shipping you're looking at $15,000. The only other federalized euro 500E I've seen for sale is going for $34k right now, and it's boring black, not Brilliant Silver Metallic ;)

There's one for $34k? Dunno if I've seen that one. There is an 040 black Euro 500E for sale, Federalized, with factory trip computer, some nice extras, and a 1994 facelift... but the seller wants a ridiculous $43k for the car (despite it having the wrong headlights, wrong front struts, and replica (fake) AMG wheels). VIN # B611200. Same car with a lower price, or a different one?

Ah no, thats the one, I just typed the $43k backwards, but yeah, insane price huh? Probably because if the guy is the original owner, or bought it from the original owner he probably had to pay for the cost of federalization, which I've heard can be as high as $40k alone.

Luckily I'm the third owner, original owner was a Porsche exec who retired here and brought it with him, had it federalized and all, he passed away and his son sold it (after driving it around for a couple years) to a guy I met and bought it from later.

The people that make comments on the bring a trailer website always seem to be pretty high on the 500E. You could try emailing the website to see if they are interested in putting the car up. I hope your car finds a good home.

Brodie,

I'll be in Hawaii on the 24th and 25th. I'd like to see the car. I could provide a first hand account of the condition of the car that I could provide here on this thread.

I'm going to put a separate post to see if anyone wants to meet for dinner on the night of the 24th or 25th in Honolulu or Maui.
