WTB: 1985 300TD Wagon

Hi,

I am looking for a 300TD wagon. I prefer a black interior and the third row of seats. I can not have a blue interior though.

Willing to pay for a nice one.

I am located in NC but have the ability to travel.

Please PM me or Email me,

Thanks!

I forgot to ask...

If a car does not come with the third row of seats, is it possible to install them easily? Or is this not worthwhile?

Thanks

Well then I guess I'll just hang on to my '85 wagon with the blue interior....:D
{Blue is my least favorite interior color too, btw.}

Wouldn't you know that almost all of the wagons on craigslist and ebay have blue interiors!

Its amazing how popular blue interiors were back then. Porsche still has blue interiors, which look really sharp, IMO.

Good luck with your search.

It's not that difficult to add a third row seat technically. It's trying to find all the pieces for it.

You need the seat, headrests, seatbelts and rear trim pieces that the seatbelts pull out of, and all the hardware. It's usually tough to find a complete third row seat setup in good condition and if you do find one, expect to pay at least $500 for it.

This company sells a third row seat:

I believe the cost is between $500-600 and they don't include the hatch pillar cover pieces or the headrests.

Not to thread jack, but I am also in need of a w123 wagon. Anyone got one?

Jimbodawg 08-25-2008 05:39 PM

Well, there's one with a blue interior - read up a few posts...

1985 300TD Possible sale

2 Attachment(s)
Here is my 1985 300TD, CA edition, Smoke Silver, Palamino interior and 3rd row seat
Has 210K and has been owned and driven by me since 1986 and mostly dealer maintained, in Los Angeles, then Boston, then Manhattan, now here.
Car is located on Long Island.
some features:
Front end rebuilt in 03, back end converted to springs by dealer in 04, A/C all new in 04, windsheild new in 05, front to back exhaust all new in 98, and 06, cruise new in 05, hatch struts in 07, trap recall followed to the t from the beginning, etc etc a few minor things need repair, passenger side mirror motor, hatch wiper, small dents, dings, etc
. Would consider a sale if it were to go to a warmer or drier climate, because despite best efforts, rust is beginning to creep in around the edges.
I don't know if I can part with it, its not the money. Second baby is on the way and wife is campaigning for a modern car, and it will slowly dissolve in the mountains of salt the morons pour on the roads out here. And I don't have a garage to make it a 'summer' car. So I don't have a price just tell me you understand that this car will be maintained properly and driven and enjoyed and I'm sure we can work a deal.

Steve
