FS: 1982 300DT 4 speed (conversion)

For sale is our trusted 1982 300DT 4 speed – Conversion of 240d Manual w/ 4 speed chassis (1982) with 300d-turbo (1983 engine)

235k Miles. At the time of conversion (9/03), the chassis had 194k miles while the engine (from a Houston car) had 193k on it.

$1400 OBO

Vin# WDBAB23A1CB297902
Goods
i. Coveted 300 flywheel (from euro parts car) and conversion into 4 speed
ii. Highly dependable as my son's daily driver for five years. Six, 1400 mile round trips to college and back.
iii. Repainted, (silver), repainted alloys
iv. CD Player
v. 80k Matching Michelins (almost new) on alloys
vi. Clear front marker lenses
vii. Sunroof works, manual windows
viii. New within the last year: Upper Control Arms, Shocks (4 Bilstein), Tie Rods, Steering Dampner, Drag Link, Idler Arm repair, sway bar bushings
ix. All records from 2003 on the chassis, records from 2002 on the engine

Bad
i. Hole through back floor, but patched
ii. Cracked dash (many)
iii. No AC
iv. Lots of small picky stuff
v. Surface rust beginning to appear in several places
vi. Small leak comes down the inside of the front windshield
vii. Driver's side window (manual) acting up
viii. Fan recently stopped blowing
ix. Door locks not working

Summary: For the right person, this is a great car because of the dependability factor AND the unique conversion. The small stuff needs attention. The car looks better in the pics than in real life.

Please email me at diesel@bhbconline.org for better pics

I can't tell from the picture but I'm pretty sure it doesn't say 300DT on the trunk.......

**edit**
Good Lord you have 3 on here incorrectly named. Snap out of it man!!

Seriously, good luck with your sales.

Yeah, but we know what he means...and I for one appreciate that he didn't say 300TD for a sedan.

Good humor on the forum.

The reason I left 240D on the trunk lid is the same conclusion you might come to when purchasing annual plates. Try comparing an 83 300DT to a 82 240D.

I'm in Cannonsburg, just outside of Rockford.

I just had great success in using the MB non hardening windshield caulking available from Fastlane or MB. It was about $18 if I remember correctly. The black hardening stuff I got at an auto parts store did not work.
