For sale: Rigorously maintained 1995 E320 Wagon (W124, M104), 130K miles, New Jersey

Bought @ 80K from an MB specialist, who preventively replaced, among other things, the wiring harness, head gasket and radiator.

Rigorously maintained since then:
=> using exclusively MB / OEM parts and fluids, and good lubricants, e.g. Mobil 1 - 0W40
=> using exclusively MB specialists
=> as scheduled:
==>> not only by MB, including replacing the coolant, brake fluid, differential oil, fuel filter, power steering fluid and filter, O2 sensor, cabin air filter, etc.
==>> but also by the Mercedes Club of America’s The Star magazine, including repacking the ball bearings, and replacing the timing chain (recently replaced @ 125K), the rear suspension hydraulic level control fluid and filter, etc.
=> the car also has recent Michelin MXV4s (replaced @ 115K) and front shocks (also replaced @ 115K; the rear spheres were replaced in 2005)

I have all the maintenance records, as well as the original documentation, tools, etc.

The car has the following items, which I believe were options:
=> passenger airbag
=> traction control (ASR)
=> cargo net / divider and cover
=> third row seats
=> roof bars
=> heated front seats
=> premium wheels
=> multi-CD player

I also added:
=> a cup holder in the armrest
=> a tailgate-mounted bike carrier (Thule)

Selling because, with our second child on the way, we would like more airbags and space. Asking $11,000. VIN # WDBEA92E0SF309384.

Reads and sounds nice... but for 11K, that's a clean w210 wagon category with lower miles. Let's see those pics please.

Yeah, the ultra low mileage ones are selling for less than that.

I suppose it would be nice to have one with all the defects corrected, though.

I have been maintaining this car as if I was going to keep it "forever". Primarily because I wanted it to be as reliable, and thus safe, as possible. And all issues that I am aware of have been addressed, at a cost that the buyer won't have to incur. (And I will absorb instead.)

Based on my own experience, as well as many testimonies in this and other forums, I don't think this is even remotely the case with the average, even "clean" used car, which will typically require several, and expensive repairs. (Due to the typical "deferred" maintenance, especially when a sale is planned.)

This car's price should be put in that perspective. But if I cannot get at least a reasonable price, I will not sell it. Or I will just trade it in, which will be much less hassle.

I will try to take pictures and post them this week-end.

Getting trade bids from dealers will only despress you; I bet they wouldn't even offer 1/3 of your asking price.

I am interested in the wagon, b.t.w, but pictures would help tremendously.

Seems like it would be much less hassle just to ask fair market value, not almost double it. Even with all work performed it is still a used car and there is no guarantee of problem free ownership. I know that's not what you are specifically promising, but it is kind of implied with you astronomical price.
But I guess if you don't want somebody to give you a fair price for a good car, it does make perfect sense to trade it in and take that kind of price beating......
That is laughable the more I think about it!! Snap out of it and just pass on a good car to a good person at a fair price. Win/Win

**plus, at that price you don't even supply pics?**

No wait Tyler, you can tell from the pics that there isn't any........oh wait, never mind!

**are we dog piling enough??**

While we're piling on, what is that mention of the Star magazine referring to. That's quite an interesting first post on this thread, syntax wise.....

I took pictures this week-end: if you are interested please email me at sanchezc@earthlink.net.

(The pictures are much larger than allowed by this forum.)

BTW I also have four recent winter Viking SnowTech tires.

You can get a photobucket account and post the links yourself. Its really easy, and will probably help sell your car.

Snow tires? Always a good sign a car has seen significant salt.......
[then again, what does a Texas guy know about snow]
