Back for sale...too many cars

Host car is an 1989 190E 2.6

This car has an extensive conversion done and bears little resemblance to the original car mechanically.

Body..
- Wald Kit installed
- Grill and hood from "C" Class
- new windshield
- paint looks ok from 10' but should be re-done soon
- Evo 11 17" x 7.5" rims..Goodyears at 40%

Drivetrain:
- 3.2 24V from E320..approx. 115 K miles...odometer non functional
- rad and rad support for oversize custom radiator...no cooling issues.
- cold air intake with new K&N dual flow cone style filter
- Remus exhaust with Hi Flow cat and Glasspac resonator
- 5 speed Getrag from 16V
- LSD diff from 16V
- fresh used good condition drive shaft with tight splines..just installed
- fresh used in good condition left rear axle, new boot
- fresh new all OE clutch assembly...E 300/320 manual edition pressure plate, clutch plate, throw-out bearing and pilot bearing with new shims, lightened/dressed flywheel from E300 manual.

Suspension:
- FK springs..lowered approx 1.75 inches
- Bilstien Sport shocks
- adjustable camber front and rear
- limo front sway bar 28.5 mm
- Evo II rear sway bar with adjustable links..18 mm
- stiffer rubber bushings all around
- 16V steering box (closer ratio than stock 190 steering)

Brakes:
- E400 brakes front and rear
- Stainless steel brake lines

Interior:
- seats from 16V front and rear
- carbon fiber dash
- momo steering wheel
- new Zebrano wood shift knob

Sounds:
- Pioneer radio/cd player with (4) x 10" JBL in sound box..(4) 6" midrange in car.

Miscellaneous recent repairs:
- New wiper drive assembly
- new blower assembly
- new front windshield
- two new window regulators
- lock vaccuum being repaired
- remote lock system
- Lo-Jack (uninstalled)
- complete clutch assy. as well as slave cylinder
- flywheel lightened and balanced
- new allstate M93 battery
- left rear axle
- both rear axle boots
- rear drive shaft assembly
- one new flex disc

Performance...
Runs like a raped ape, car is rock steady as high as I have dared taking it (125 mph with lots more to go)...all known mechanical issues resolved...recent mileage before drive train repair was 24.5 mpg highway driving 80 - 95 mph on 250 mile trip. Expect this to improve a little with all vibration removed from drivetrain and higher flow K&N filter. Love the feeling as the cam shifts...

Location:
NE Pa

Asking: $8,000

Comments:

This is a serious drivers car and seems to be built for x-cross...suspension is very stiff, but also very very stable and responsive, could be used as a drift car too. However the faster you go the more Mercedes like it feels..like it's just coming into it's own above 80 mph. The car looks darker than these pictures indicates in the sunlight...

Re-list

I have too many cars, so have decided to re-list the 3.2 for sale

Note the two bad things on this car..PO did a hasty paint job on this car just before shipping it to me in 07 and the clear is ravelling in places..still looks good from 10 - 15 feet away, but I would not want to decieve anyone..needs a repaint. Interior liner is coming off on drivers side door pillar.

The owner lol...on the car nothing other than the paint that hasn't been fixed...clutch from PO was an organic 6 puck custom race clutch plate, with a service life of approx. 3000 miles, worked more like an "on/off" switch..stall or peel..only choices...current clutch is fine and allows some dignity when pulling out. Trans shifts nicely now that the slave cylinder has been rebuilt, and the longer shift knob added...No more "Momo" for me

Is this the car you bought with the 16valve that was straight piped or something?

If not I remember a sale similar to this one.

Am curious about how you think you know how much I paid...Karnak I presume...

Well actually depending on how you divide the cost...I paid more than $8K for it...the pair were $13000 plus shipping...another $1200, so the total was $14,200...given the condition of the 16V, I would not assign any more than a value of around $4000..engine blew in the first month, trans/diff made a lot of noise, car was so low as to be undriveable...exhaust so loud I would have been pulled over in the first 10 miles...Assigning a value of $4000 to that car is generous..so the actual cost of the 3.2...was at least $9,600...2 years ago in March. Plus I dumped at least another $3000 into it....since then in improvements...so my cost of that car over the last two years is more like $12,600.

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to explain Sev

Yes that's the one...the valver had the headers coming into a "Y" pipe, to a race cat, to another "Y" pipe and then straight back out the rear with dual pipes and tips..no mufflers, or resonators.

Since then this /86-16V (as opposed to the 3.2 conversion) has had a fresh engine, fresh trans, new diff, one axle changed, complete new exhaust, a variety of changes inside, including back to the original shifter lever, new/used shifter assemby, fresh shifter bushings, new antenna, most sensors changed, and much of the wiring redone, H&R sport Cup springs replaced with Vogtland sports, a 400E front sway, and a 17mm Eibach rear sway, adjustable camber arms on the rear...great car now...about $12,000 later...

Hey this is about as much fun as you can find for $8000..I need a driving enthusiast to take it over..On the other hand, my mechanic wants me to keep this one..says it's the most reliable 190 I own...
