1980 300TD Chameleon, 3rd row seat, newer engine
EDIT: 1/25 ---- Price lowered to $1200.
Chameleon is for sale. 1980 300TD with Palomino interior in decent shape with the rare 3rd row seat. It's been painted once or twice, color change attempted, so I'm not for sure what exterior color to call it. Engine has been overhauled and replaced, but I'm not for sure what order. I will have to check the documentation. Anyway, the CWC thread on Chameleon says the overhaul was 40K miles ago. Yes, I have the receipts. I believe the odometer works and I THINK it's about 220K+ miles. I will have to check. The engine runs strong the last time I had it started which you would expect with a 40K mile overhaul. The interior is in decent shape. The 3rd row seat with seat belts looks almost virgin. The 2nd row has the 3 headrests. The car was discussed over in the Diesel Discussion forum on this thread. There should be a posting over there about the driver's side rear brake locked up during the test drive. The car has paint issues. Here are some pics I snapped on 1/22/2010:

Chameleon came to life today. The engine started, the rearend raised up, and the linkage on top of the valve cover is broken. The STOP button was not all the way up. UGH.

It does have a wagon first aid kit --- I'll post pics in just a minute.
It also comes with a even more rare wagon warning triangle -- not in pics.     The red X marks the first aid kit as shown above The green circled area is where the wagon euro warning triangle resides.

Wow, lucky me!! I must have the only other 2 wagon warning triangles and wagon medical kits in existence.
 Oh wait, I think I sold one of those rare wagon warning triangles. What was I thinking......  Whoa, while I was typing this it appears a "sold" post is now above. Good job daw. That med kit did the trick I bet!!
