Someone please save this one

Seriously, seeing this great big uber-complicated ****er sitting dusty and neglected in a garage is a crime. Every minute it sits there fifty baby zebra's die in the wild. Please, think of the Zebra babies.

Probably more than that to make it completely correct.

Where do you determine this car needs to be "saved??" And saved from what??

It's next stop certainly isn't the "junk heap......!!"

Au contraire......

That color was the hottest color going in the mid-'60s.

It is a period color of magnificent color.

My dear old Dad had a sparkling 1965 Pontiac Catalina in that color - a stunning color of the day!

How did you like the 50 for 1 stock split on Berk/Hath the other day Joe?

Oh, and it has a 4 speed. I bet it would be a hoot to drive if it wasn't gaggle****ed sitting in a corner of a garage.

Oddly, every Mercedes I've bought has been icon gold metallic, or whatever it's called in it's various permutations. I don't pick them like that, I just always end up with a gold metallic one. Although Wilma's going to be a nice shade of red when I'm done.

I would be wary of the seller. A guy from Cali with no rating on Ebay and four transactions. Drive there, see it first, pay cash or walk if it's not right. Some things are made to be passed up, because they are used in a scam. And unlike the Old West, you can't shoot or hang horse thieves any more...sigh

It looks like it might possibley be good enough to drive and have some fun with pretty much as is. Restoring it would be tough to come out on financially I think. I like the stick. It really would not be all that complicated, I don't imagine. The mechanical fuel injection is probably the toughest thing but once gotten right I believe they are pretty trouble free.

I don't see how the 3L engine and a four speed stick couldn't be fun. Unless they were on fire... but still, maybe...

I bought several Berkshire-Hathaway Inc. A shares 25 years ago in 1985........I then decided to add a ton of B shares in the late '90s........now I have so many thousands of shares.....sometimes I wonder what in the heck happened since I was drinking beer late one night in Warren Buffett's 1971 Cadillac Sedan DeVille with his daughter Susan in Elmwood Park near their home in Omaha. Susan is reported to thinking that her Dad sold security systems, when she was a teen-young adult. He sold "securities!" Ha! Time and valuations fly when you're having fun.......and getting older!

I like it just fine!

The common guy on-the-streets can now walk into a; Fidelity, Charles Schwab, Vanguard, Olde Discount, Ameritrade, etc. and buy a piece of one of the greatest American companies ever! I still think that financially - it's the best move I could have ever made, short of marrying Warren's daughter. he - he

I was amazed they finally had a split. I knew it was coming eventually ($3,600 a share?!?! lol) but it still was really neat to see. I almost bought some shares on the day of the split since they were so damned cheap, but my most recent experiance with Goldman Sachs has dampened my enthusiasm for the market of late. Did you see their book value per share as of the 27th? It rose something like 19%. Mr Buffett is a pretty cool dude.

In order to make a smooth transition of buying the remaining 75% of BNSF - Burlington Northern Santa Fe's shares that Berkshire-Hathaway didn't already own - Warren decided to make it a palatable transition for ALL BNSF shareowners. Hence - the 50 for 1 stock split of BRK.B shares - accordingly, BNSF shareholders could then transition to the newly split BRK.B shares - or - keep their BNSF stock. From all reports - the BNSF shareholders will mostly transition to Berkshire-Hathaway 'B' shares. One big happy family dontcha know!

If you hang with me - I'll never tell you wrong. I don't have a crystal ball, but I turned a colleague of mine on to BRK.B 15 years ago - he has never stopped thanking me. Two weeks ago, he called and asked my blessing on buying a few thousand dollars worth right before they joined the S & P 500......I told him to buy all he could - however I guarantee nothing. Just my thoughts on it. He is most appreciative, BTW.

Every gold MB that I've seen has gotten that same response from me. What a horrible color on a car.
