buddy of mine used to build tractor pull engines. ungodly money for bragging rights. this sport must have the lowest prize money/money spent ratio of any motorsport out there. I used to see some really exotic high rise ford stuff getting abused and thrown away, then they started into cosworth stuff, increadible

On my 99 Expedition, IIRC I called the dealer and they said the code to use was printed on a label under the dash on a module or something. I did that and was able to make a new code and it still works great. Unless they changed the procedure since then? Jim

mines a 2001, did not know about a label. they told me they hooked it up to the diag port and queried it. it didnt cost anything, it was there for something else anyway and I asked them to get the code for me while they had it.

The label was back there on my 2003. I used a mirror to read it. No need to have the dealer read it unless the label is gone....

it's going in for recall work anyways... so since they'll be at it might as well have the code pulled too. They wont charge me for it..

Did a lot of board surfing and apparently the 00-01 7.3's and >2005 6.0's are the way to go. Looking for a 2000-2001 7.3 4x4 Excursion for the wife and am curious how yours goes. Start a thread somewhere and let me know when!

Thanks!

by the way...I also am curious how much did you end up paying? I've been looking for roughly the same rig/miles combo.
