1989 300SD (no affiliation)

helped my friend buy a nice 1982 300D tonight and the seller's grandmother is in possession of an extremely well taken care of 1989 300SD. her husband was a mercedes mechanic at a mercedes dealership. it has an actual 30,xxx miles on it and has been garage kept and babied its whole life. if anyone is interested send me a PM and i can try to get additional information, a price, and pictures. would much rather it go to someone on the forum who will continue to take care of it.

If it were an '87 it would be a SDL.

I talked to the seller's grandson today and got the lowdown. Wow!

1982 300SD
Sounds like its Petrol Blue Green Metallic Exterior over Ivory or light beige interior. Not Palamino.

30-40,000 original documented miles. He couldn't remember exactly.

His grandfather bought the car 6 years ago from the widow of the original owner. He was a Mercedes mechanic for over 50 years, owning his own shop for the last 30. Shortly after purchasing, he went through and replaced all the aged rubber in the car from sitting. This included all the belts, hoses, oil cooler lines, etc. The grandfather is now deceased, and his widow is the seller currently.

Pristine condition.

Asking $10,000, and I imagine its worth every penny.

Probably X 2. I'd have to see and drive it to assess it as well.

Were it an SDL with those miles - I'd likely be interested.

No sir. Pierre went to look at it some time ago and gave it a thumbs down. Seems the speedometer needle shading didn't match the rest of the car.
