FS: 1987 Mercedes Benz 560SEC Dallas TX

Enthusiast selling a very nice 1987 560SEC. The car is dark blue with gray leather interior.

I have done considerable amount of work on this car in the last 6 months, which is listed below.

Exterior

* Paint is in decent shape and shines well. There are a couple of dings and chips, but overall, the car is presentable.

Interior

In the last 6 months, I performed the following job
* Replaced dashboard which was cracked (12 hour job) with a clean crack free dash.
*Replaced Cluster had broken temp display and the clock did not work (both clock and mile clock) so I replaced it/
* Replaced three non working electric window switches
* Replaced front and rear seats with very supple crack free leather seats

Mechanical

* Replaced oil and filter
* Replaced transmission filter , drained torque converter and put new fluid
* Replaced a number of vacuum hoses
* Replaced a number of breather hoses
* Replaced fuel distributor
* Replaced EHA
* Replaced air filter
* Replaced spark plugs
* Replaced spark plug wires
* Replaced ignition coil
* Replaced a couple of vacuum check valves
* Replaced timing chain, chain tensioner and upper guide rails
* Replaced valve cover gaskets and camshaft oilers

Suspension

* Replaced rear air cells
* Flushed hydraulic fluid
* Replaced tie rods
* Replaced guide rod bushings (caster joint bushings)
* Replaced steering damper
* Performed alignment

Brakes

* Flushed brake fluid
* Replaced front brake pads and rotors

Misc

* Replaced central locking vacuum pump
* Replaced power antenna
* Recharged A/C with R12 (blows ice cold)

The car is now very reliable and used daily. It's fast and tight and I would drive it from one coast to another without hesitation. The wheels in the picture will not be going with the car, instead I will put the original 15 inch wheels with good Yokohama tires.

Asking $5500 OBO. For the money, you will not find a car with this much critical work done in such a short period of time.

Reason for sale.

I have found a Euro 560SEC project car that I would like to work on and have other cars that I can drive daily.

The car is located in Dallas TX. Please Email me with any questions.

Dang, it looks good with those wheels. Too bad they're not staying with the car. Early Lorinser's?

I just scored a nice set of chrome staggered AMG 17 inch rims that will go on my R107. 8.5x17 front and 10x17 rear.

Lovely wheels but I got a sticker shock when I saw how much tires cost for it.

These Lorinsers will more then likely go on my Euro 560SEC once this car is sold.

I'll have interior pictures of it shortly.

Funny how things happen, Three years on, I just bought this car back after the fellow I sold it to had sold it to a buddy of his and moved back to Germany.

Unfortunately the engine developed an oil leak and they ran it out of oil. I'm now deciding if I should make it a parts car or stick an engine in it.

If the car is still in as good shape as it was in those pictures, I would attempt to replace the engine

I'm thinking the same way , probably stick an engine in it, address some of the other minor issues and sell it on.
