1966 250S $1500

Hi, my name is Curt...I am a Mercedes addict. Unfortunetly I have to many cars for my own good. I am in the Air Force and relocate every 2 years, I have been at my current location for just over 2 years no and am slated to get orders soon. The goverment will only pay to ship 2 cars and I currently have 4, I figured I would start with the car that I drive the least and go from there.

It is a 1966 250S I purchased just about 2 years ago, odom reads 88,XXX. When I bought the car I was told that was the original milage and odom had not rolled over, but I have not been able to verify this. Car is horizon blue with blue mb-tx interior. Car runs, drives and stops, however break booster and power steering need attention.

Body - 8 out of 10
Paint - 3.5 out of 10
Interior - 7.5 out of 10
Chrome - 8.5 out of 10

Pictures Here>>> http://s275.photobucket.com/albums/jj293/curtis61387/

My exp with Peaches is that there cheap and I am looking for a quick sale....so I am just going to list my bottom line on this car. First $1500 takes her home. Carb rebuild cost me $1200 from a reputable shop a little over a year ago with total documented work around $2500 so please dont ask me to go any lower, I wont take a penny less than $1500. If you have any questions send me a pm.

Thanks,

Curt

great looking car! $1500 is a steal. Unfortunately, I don't have the time to devot to another MB. Just to help others that are interested. What's the problem with the brake booster/power steering? Needs brake booster and power steering pump?

Break Booster/Power Steering

BrownRice, thanks for the compliment. The last time I had the car in the shop they told me I needed as power steering flush as it would wine during hard turns at idle(backing out of parking spaces, etc.). The break booster seems to have a seal leak, when the break is pressed I can hear a hissing sound. So since there is no vacuum in the booster its not doing its job of providing power assisted breaking. I am able to stop the car under my own power and feel comfortable driving the car around town as is but it would be much safer and more comfortable if these two issues were addressed.

That's a great looking car! Seems like a steal of deal for the right individual. Good luck with the sale.

Nice. I also like the red coupe. (I have a red 1971 250 C). On the coupe, is the black roof / hubcaps original to the car?
thanks
Scott

I don't suppose you have pics of engine bay... If so, could you post?

Are you contemplating selling the "C"?

I took some pics of the engine bay another gentleman had requested, I will try to put them up on photobucket in the next couple days. I actually am seriously considering selling the 250C. Was planning on bringing it in for an oil change and fresh tune up before I do though. I imagine I'll be listing it within the next couple months.

I'm not really familiar with this vintage, so forgive me... I assume there is no A/C in the S... is there in the C?

Thats alright, I like talking about my cars so questions are welcome. The "S" has air conditioning however only holds a charge for about 3 months, slow leak somewhere in the system. I havnt recharged the system since last summer as I have been just rolling around town with the windows down but I will pick up a can of freon and fill the system and see if it still holds a charge. I know the blower still blows just fine as I tested that just the other day.

The "C" also has air conditioning, all though I am unsure of the status of it. I tried to turn it on when I first purchased the car and It didnt turn on, I never investigated it any further than that.

Wow -- that car is SHARP! Why the 3.5/10 rating for paint?

Do you have orders yet? Where to next? I'm Guard at Scott (the tanker unit there).
