We're selling our beautiful, well-cared for 1984 Mercedes-Benz 300D. This is a turbodiesel with 337,000km on it. I am the second owner of the car and have owned it for about 4 years. It's a great car and has never given me any trouble but it doesn't really meet the needs of our growing family anymore.

Since I have bought it it has mostly been serviced by Mercedes-Benz. I've done the following things:

1) New rear brakes discs, pads, calipers and a recent fluid change (January '10). All pads have plenty of life left in them. Also new brake lines for the rear.
2) Had the hand primer pump updated to the new Bosch model
3) All new tie rods, tie rods ends, ball joints
4) New tires (Goodyear Integrity) 4000 km ago
5) Oil and filter changed 4000 km ago
6) Transmission fluid and filter 4000 km ago
7) Valve lash adjusted 8000 km ago
9) New alternator and battery in october of '08
10) New fuel filters (primary and secondary) in january of this year
11) coolant flush in january '10
12) New injector return lines 1500 km ago
13) Updated rack damper bolt for the injection pump in '08
14) New air filter in fall of '09

I've tried hard to maintain the car well and I believe it shows. Car drives beautifully and has only some minor rust near the wheel wells. Colour is "Thistle Green Metallic" which is relatively uncommon, and it also has the rather rare rear headrest option. As you might expect on a car that is 25+ years old, a few things are not working:

1) Climate control works only rarely. There's a dead relay behind the head unit that needs replacing.
2) Power antenna needs lubrication and right now will not raise or lower (stuck in the down position)
3) Cruise control is dead (a known issue on these cars)
4) Monovalve for the heater core needs replacing. Heat is sometimes not as hot as it should be but it is an easy fix
5) Airconditioning system not working - it holds pressure but has no coolant. R12 is needed, but illegal now in Canada. AC compressor and clutch are in fine shape.

However, it has excellent power, passed aircare and is good until next June. Always starts reliably and often turns heads. I hope it goes to a good home; price is negotiable. I am looking to sell it as soon as possible! If the ad is still up, car is still available.

Some specifics if you are interested - this is body style W123.133 and motor OM617.952
