1981 300SD-94,XXX documented miles
Sadly I must part with "BOB" (Big Old Benz) which I have had the pleasure of owning over the last 3 years. VIN #WDCB820A8BB002712, Engine #002800. Bob is a 1981 300SD with a documented 94,169 miles that I brought up from North Carolina 2 1/2 years ago. The car was purchased from the widow of a professor at the University of North Carolina. I am the second owner. I have ALL maintenance records since NEW and the car is all original down to the Becker Europa casette receiver in the dash. I bought the car with 74,234 miles and have only put 20,000 on it during the time I have owned it. A new house and a new child force the sale.
Since I bought the car I have gone through all major systems. A partial list of restorations follows: New Brake rotors x 4 with new pads and sensors, new front bearing seals New radiator hoses, thermostat, auxiliary water pump, new thermo vacuum valve New motor mounts New fuel filters, air filter New Shift bushings New AC compressor, drier (still R-12), new AC relay All new panel lamps, new headlights New water pump New vacuum pump New main control relay New fuel level sender New 85 month battery New Injector nozzles New fan belts New floor mats (MB OEM originals) New Michelins at 74,652 (about 50% remaining) New wiper blades (MB OEM) New drivers seat control switch New cruise control computer (remanufactured) New turn signal bulbs All new fuses New tachometer sensor Brake lines flushed with new fluid The car has a few minor dings, but absolutely no rust. Rear glass is cloud free and dry, rear defroster works well. Has been garaged its entire life. AC is cold and everything on the car functions as it should. In a word, this car is essentially as it was when it was sold. I even have the original window sticker (see photos). It could probably use a new set of shocks, but other than that, I can't think of anything that it requires. It has absolutely no blow by and routinely averages 24 mpg mixed driving. The interior is as close to perfect as you will find for age (no dash cracks and mb tex is near perfect). Paint is quite good with no history of body work and no repaints. Interior wood is perfect. Interior and trunk is bone dry. Comes with all original manuals and maintenance records. I have $7,854.69 in the car and that's what I would like to get out of it. I am open to all "reasonable" offers. I'm not trying to screw anybody over and I realize it's not the cheapest 300SD out there, but it may be the lowest documented mileage 300SD with the cleanest history of any you'll find. I really need to sell as soon as possible. If interested, please call me at (603) 978-2322, or e-mail me at < CW

I really like that interior color. What's it called? I like it better than the palomino and chocolate of the SDs of my past.

The sticker calls it "Beige MB Tex".

That's a nice car. If my wife ever granted me unlimited purchasing privileges (which she won't), I'd be very interested. Two's my (current) limit!
