Well the 92 300d project is coming to an end, and I no longer need this car. Although if I didn’t have a newer car like I do, I would definitely be keeping this. The car has been super reliable since the first day I bought it. I put 340 miles on it Labor Day weekend, and had no problems. I also averaged 25mpg on that trip with 50/50 65mph highway and 55mph roads. On a normal basis I average 20-22mpg with all in town driving.
Basic information:
· 1983 Mercedes 300sd
· 212,xxx miles
· Sunroof
The good:
· Has new belts as of two days ago
· 1 year old battery
· Runs very well
· A/C works
· Has a Grant wood steering wheel
· Have found and fixed several large vacuum leaks, but a few small ones remain
The not so good:
· The front seats are bad, and only the drivers power options work
· The center console wood and hvac wood needs replaced
· Driver’s rear window goes down, but motor does not bring it back up
· Has been repainted, and it is peeling off in a few spots
· Tach doesn’t work, just bounces around

Would it spark more interest/be worth it if I replaced the front seats and center consol/hvac wood. And fixed a few other cosmetic issues? Ive been debating this for a while, but I wanted to see if anyone had interest in it at this price and in the condition. If I fixed some of this I would ask about $2000 on here and $2100-$2200 on craigslist.

What price will get this sold, im wanting to sell it soon. Im tired of spending every last minute of my time fixing it or worrying about what will break next. It needs a starter solinoid, a thermostat, and a primer pump. The primer pump and t-stat are ordered, and I will most likely install them before anyone purchases. However I am not willing to pull the starter. The car will start after quite a few tries. (good enough that I drive it occasionally) I want this sold , so what price will excite you enough to take it home? Please put anything out there and we will see if im willing to take it. Please make an offer so I can have some cash to start looking at something for a dd that gets better than 10.85mpg

A/C was a bad 134a conversion that did work over the summer, good enough that it was better than having the windows down. The heat works, but is slow to transfer between vents, i have it so that its heat out the defrost in winter and a/c out the cnter vents in summer. I have not driven this car more thaan two or three miles in the last month due to it needing some tlc. It has rust, thaat isnt affecting driving, but will probably need addressed eventually. Its hard to show in pitures, so id prefer you come look at it. The transmission shifts oddly because I adjusted the valve on the tranny and then found a biig vaccum leak, and never got it adjusted right after that. A few other know problems no is that the primer pump is getting weak, and it has to have the pedal touched when first started for the day. I have the new primer pump for the buyer its from peaachparts. It also never goes above 80 degrees and needs a new thermostat which I also have from peeachparts.

HOW bad is the rust?

There are spots here and there, that the previous pwner tied to cover up, and are coming through. Mainly in the jack point areas.
