my MB finally for sale

As I promised my wife, I would sell the 1990 350sdl diesel. I am planning on listing it on CL locally for $2500. I would sell it to someone in this forum for $2000 with visitation rights.

Cons:
-Paint is faded, clearcoat is gone on the hood, but original everything
-original Becker radio does not work
-Front passenger seat does not recline
-wipers stopped working a few weeks ago (might just be the linkage. I have not investigated it yet)
-ac is shot
-i only have one key (red dot)

Pros:
-No rust, 100% southern car
-Overmaintained- 3000 mile oil and filter changes, mobil1 or rotella, hengst or Mann used
-full maintenance records since birth
-odo says 360k but the rod bender motor was replaced at 280k with a 300sdl rebuilt engine, local MB specialist did the work
-tranny was rebuilt around that time as well
-all rubber is good (balljoints, tie rod ends)
-no funny sounds
-I will throw in a set of new shocks, half a dozen cans of LubroMoly diesel purge, and all the extra parts I have
-not one ounce of bondo
-tires are only a couple of months old

I'll post pics later.

I am not really motivated to sell but I promised my wife I would attempt to at least list it (half-heartedly albeit). Car is located in Chapel Hill NC

I would rejoice to be selling it if I owned it. SDLs are large money eating creatures the older they get, vs. some of the other diesels out there in pre-owned land. It also sounds like an ongoing money pit with all those miles on it to me. And, it doesn't look too good with the peeling clearcoat. I'm down with your wife on getting rid of it.

So, you are selling it to buy another Mercedes, or out of the MB Diesels altogether?

Faded paint, peeling clear coat, isn`t that the norm?

How about a 300td? What with those seats in the back, they are great kid carriers... and a whole lot better looking than a 1997 dodge caravan...
