500SLC for parts or optomistic restore

I have a 1981 500SLC WDB10702612002372 for sale.

It was originally magnese brown over light brown velour. It must have had a respray to a dark red at some point, probably when it was side swiped and repaired (evidenced by cracked bondo on pass side rear quarter and replaced pass side door) and the interior was replaced with tan leather (which is now pretty well worn and torn in some places).

The car is a complete basket case as far as the interior is concerned. It does appear to all be there.

It is not currently running, although if prodded enough, I think I could put some effort forth to figure out the problem (most likely a fuel delivery issue per previous owner).

The car has serious rust issues, needs floor pans and rear window work most notably along with the heater plenum chamber. The rear window is delaminating.

The good points are the aluminum hood and trunk lid with rubber spoiler and euro bumpers. The car has SLS and headlamp wiper motors. I have a set of poor condition euro headlights to include as well. The bowls will need refinishing and one of the lenses is cracked.

I was hoping to fix this up and make a rally type car out of it but I am way in over my head. I paid $1000 plus $250 to get it home. I'd like to start the asking price at $1200 obo.

I will add some pics tonight but if I didn't post this fs ad now, I don't think I would ever get around to it.
