Beautiful Red 1982 Mercedes Benz 300CD-T Coupe in CA
 

This Beautiful Red 1982 Mercedes Benz 300CD Turbo Diesel Coupe is up for sale. Although it has sentimental value (my first 'Benz), I have too many cars now, and need to sell some. The car has approx. 202,500 miles on it with a working odometer. The engine usually starts first time, and the 4 speed automatic transmission shifts good. It has been adjusted to shift a little harder. The air conditioning blows cold with recent new compressor, drier, and 134A refrigerant. The paint is about 60% original, with the doors and fenders painted by previous owner (some clear coat peeling on passenger side). It has a Blaupunkt CD/AM-FM radio, but no antenna. The interior is very nice with only a few small cracks in the dash, a sagging headliner by the back window, and a few other minor imperfections. Has a recent new windshield and gasket. The passenger door lock vacuum element needs replacing (cause of vacuum leak). The TURBODIESEL emblem is off, and needs the little fasteners to hold it on. The car that is third in line (in front of the coupe) belongs to user Rudolf Diesel. His car now has a supercharger AND a bigger turbo (intercooled). It is VERY fast!

Didn't you drive this red 300CD at the last gtg / drive over the Ortega Highway?

Yes, second photo on post #3. That is the day I had filter issues. A new filter makes a world of difference!

I have not seen another the same color combo. Sounds like you need do do a road trip!

My first diesel Benz was a 300CD. It was a 78, no turbo... But it was that color red with a black interior. As much as I regret letting that car go (it was beat to hell but I LOVED it) My real regret is that this one is in CA. I'd pick it up in a heartbeat if it were closer.

@Rollguy - Brother, I wish I could! I'm looking for my first diesel MB, but the buyer on my truck fell through so I'm back to dreaming!

Aaron, we should start a racket, getting these cars up here. Just totaled a 97 :(, and its so hard to replace it. One car here in WNY. One.

And we have plenty of fryer oil form which to brew fuel. Plenty o' plenty.

Working AC , rebuilt tranny , new ball joints , new shaded windshield & German grommets , new paint , custom made all metal radiator , high output alternator blah blah blah...

Over $7,000 invested , who cares ? .

Ca. tags & title in my name , drive it anywhere .

$1,500 before I donate it to charity .

Most early Coupes have the FUGLY tobacco brown interior .

The interior is original & tired .

Original blue & yellow license plates ! .

Dash has cracks .

Come to Monrovia and look at it , drive it away , clean it up and make a killing to one of your customers ~ I'm out of The Auto Trade so I just want it gone . I have my beloved Pastel Beige turbo Coupe now so I'm good to go for life .

Beautiful car Rich. I am interested in buying one like yours. Is your still available? How has it been with biodiesel? I have a military Chevy Blazer I have just started running on biodiesel and so far so good.
