87 300D 6 Cylinder Turbo Diesel Sedan.
Link to Craigslist ad: http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sgv/cto/2777730542.html Mercedes 87 300D 6 Cylinder Turbo Diesel. Strong , smooth, powerful, quiet engine, trans shifts good. 254K mileage. Owned 5 years (stored 3 of those years). Have done these repairs since I've owned it (have reciepts): Recent synthetic trans fluid change including filter, Front lower ball joints, 4 wheel alignment, Left rear wheel bearing, Sepentine belt, Several new bushings in rear suspension, New ignition switch/tumbler & keys. White exterior but definately needs a paint job (car was outside of California part of its life so paint not in top condition). Gray leather interior in good condition except dash has some cracks, (an overlay could easily be installed though). Has Mercedes OEM 16 X 8 wheels off of an early 90's 300 or 500 SL (129). Original 15" wheels provided too if wanted. Safe dependable transportation, excellent commuter, 25+ MPG. Smog check exempt in California. California tag good until November 2012. $3900 Firm. Location Southern California. PM if interested. (Would consider as partial trade for a Dodge 2500 diesel pick up truck, manual trans prefered, good condition, or above average condition 300SD). I was all ready to say "More likely the seller's confused and it's Tex" until I clicked on the link; those are indeed leather seats. Cool.
But it can't possibly have R129 wheels on it: the offset is totally wrong. Probably 16-inchers from a facelift 124. Overpriced anyway in the current market. I have a SoCal-sourced 124 and while the lack of rust is nice, the sun damage to the plastic parts is amazing. I just tried to change the CHMSTL and the housing just crumbled like it was made of cheese. Luckily I have a parts car.

It definately is leather, didn't realize it was that rare in these 124's. At the moment it has OEM 124 wheels on it with new tires. In the past had a set of 129 wheels on it and still have them. That is correct that they are not the same offset, no doubt that best to stick with the OEM 124 wheels. Its easy to dump lots of $ into these cars. Even though it may be overpriced I have quite a bit more in it. It runs great, lots of power. Open to offers.
