1986 190d 5 speed

1986 190d five cylinder diesel with five speed. Car is essentially a one owner car. It was inherited by a good friend from his grandmother (original owner), he didnt drive it 100 miles in three years and I bought it a few weeks ago. Has jack point rust but thats it, arrow straight with black paint that will clean up nicely. Starts right up and runs great. I just replaced the delivery valve seals and washers so no leaks. Just replaced the motor mounts and transmission mount. All windows, clock and cruise work. Sunroof sporadically. Ac has been converted but needs a charge. All hvac functions work. Have mats, cover, bra, all keys and every maintenance record since new. 184k showing but the odometer appears to turn a bit slow. Drive this car anywhere right now. Car is in northeastern NC. $2600 OBO

I am very interested! PM sent

Can members help weigh in on the dependability and ease of self-repairs on this one vs. my familiar w123?
Are parts impossible to find sine they are less common and collected?

Any expected problems with this model?

No harm meant to the ad b/c I'd really like to get it. Just looking for experienced drivers....

Correct.
Turbo was 87 only.
This is the 2.5L 5 cylinder.
The 84-85s had the 2.3L OM601 4 cylinder.

By 86, most of the stuff on a W201 had reached it's "final" version, so interchange issues are much less problematic than for the earlier cars.

Pleasant car, I owned one in the 90s, but sold it because it was too small.
Had to run with the driver's seat all the way back so no legroom in the rear seat. Got low to mid thirties, and the 5 speed was fun.
