SOLD! 1983 Euro Mercedes 300D 4spd - $2500 (Hyattsville, MD)

SOLD

European Spec 300D 4-speed with 320,000 kilometers on the odometer.
This car has been a reliable daily driver for me for the past two years, but I
am selling now to get a newer, smaller car. The Euro model features cloth
interior, Euro bumpers, and color-matched hubcaps. The fuel injection
hoses were upgraded to the veggie-oil compatible viton hoses. The
exhaust pipe, shifter bushings, and wipers were recently replaced. This car
came with rear seat-belt delete, but we installed belts from an
American 300D for safety. There is one worn-through spot in the driver's
seat upholstery and some rust-through on the underside, but overall, the
car is in pretty good condition. Great heat and A/C!

Much as I like the 240D 4spd I recently bought, I wish I'd waited and bought this.

Very nice, GLWS.

Can we see some pics of the interior and "rust-through" underneath areas?

Is this car manual everything?

Any other service history to share?

Is it ready fro a long drive to a new home...

Abbe 02-14-2012 11:44 AM

Hi NCfriend,

I can certainly post some pictures of the interior and rust (although it will have to wait until tomorrow as I won't be home before dark today in order to take them!).

Yes, everything in the car is manual. I do not know the service history of the car prior to owning it. All of the work I have done in the past two years is listed in the ad.

The last long drive I took with the car was up to New York City (about a four hour drive). It made it there and back with no problems!

If the seller is amenable to it, I'd be willing to check this car out for potential buyers on this board. I've driven several w123 Euros, including a 300D manual, and I own a 4 speed 240D that I've done quite a bit of work on. The only caveat is that the only free daylight hours I have are on the weekend.

Hi TrboDieselPwrd, I would certainly be amenable to that.

Hey...

I've got a euro 200D in completely rust-free condition with the exact same interior seat style, and I'm also in Maryland. I've still got the original euro rear bumper, but the rubber has been damaged and it's not looking it's best, and the front bumper and headlights were changed to US when it was imported. I'd really like to coerce those bumpers and headlights off of you if I you (or whomever buys this car) would be amenable to a reasonable offer. Or at least the headlights if you are partial to the bumpers as I wouldn't mind holding out for a good set of euro coupe bumpers instead.

My front seats are in perfect shape with no stains - I am changing the interior to green so would be happy to offer them for trade as well as any door panels or other parts you might be able to use.

Also it looks like your center console trim has a screw where the mounting tab broke off on the bottom center. I've got one that's completely intact as it originally came if you'd like it as I've replaced all my trim with zebrano. It has a hole for the radio fader which I note you don't have, but I have a filler panel to blank it out (I'm guessing that's probably what yours has there as well). ALSO, not pictured, I have a brand new unopened manual shifter boot ordered from the MB dealership last week. I ordered a leather one so I don't need it. So what do you say, can I talk you out of those headlights/bumpers somehow?

Is this still for sale?

Abbe 02-29-2012 10:18 AM

Renntag - yes, the car is still for sale. Raptelan - I am not willing to sell or trade the car in pieces, sorry!

Renntag 03-02-2012 07:00 PM

When may I come see it?
