seen a few w123 rear subframe bushing write-ups and would consider that job done a HUGE bonus on any 123 (or 126) i was looking at, what's the story with the w124? prob similar as far as the work goes but dunno..

what's that run to get it done?

Honestly, I don't recall it being a HUGE PITA. I'm sure it wasn't fun, but I got it done. There were DIY threads here on the forums that I read, and it went pretty smoothly, I think, but that's been a couple of years ago, anyway.

Everything on my list (aside from the alignments) I did myself with parts from Mercedesshop (now Peachparts). I believe I have most, if not all, of the receipts.

Bump... been too busy with the birth of child #2 to actively pursue selling the Benz, but I do still have it.

I suppose I might be somewhat interested in a diesel W123, if rust-free, in trade. A manual 240D is one car I've never owned and always taken a shine to. I'd much rather sell outright, however.

Price drop before she goes back into storage... $1500. Cash talks.

Tempting, I think I might have to do some thinking on this and see what shipping would be.

I mentioned it to the girlfriend. She's started to like these cars and I can probably score a good transmission for cheap down here.

That's my plan if it doesn't sell. I am sure I can round a 722 up for a few hundred bucks; they are common enough. If we didn't have two kids (19 months and 2 1/2 weeks old!), I'd save it for a summer project.

Surely somebody can put the ol' girl to use! This week only, I'll send her home with a forum member for $1400; after that, I'll need to buy tags for another year, and cost will go back up accordingly (or car will just go back into storage for eventual repair).

Anyone? Anyone? Beuller?

Thanks for all the interest, folks. The car is sold and is now with a friendly forum member in TN, where she'll get the attention she needs to be a beloved daily driver once again. I miss her already!

Indeed it would. I didn't want to "out" you if you didn't want to be named. Thank YOU for giving her a good home!
