83 240D Euro spec parts car in Ct. $500
 

Had this car for about 7 years. It is a 4 speed Euro Spec with 148K on an odometer that only works 70% of the time, speedo does work all the time. It does not smoke OR leak oil and will drive at 75 MPH all day long. It has a new alternator and battery. Pioneer AM/FM/CD player with a powered Kenwood sub. The car has major floor rust and that is why it will be sold for parts or restoration only. It CAN be driven home, I have been driving it daily, but I would not recommend making this a daily driver without floor repair.

It has had a recent exhaust, the valves were adjusted several times while I've owned it, last year most recent. All lights, accessories and such work. The block heater is new, the car starts down to 20 degrees without it though. Has the usual quarter panel rust and dents as you can see from the pics.

I really hope I don't see this car on craigslist or ebay in a month or so. I am about a half an hour away and I have an 84 euro that had been rear ended prior to my purchasing it and has had an ugly American market bumper installed UPSIDE DOWN and the car is also an automatic. I have been searching for untold ages for a rear bumper and stick to convert it. I saw the add about 26 hours after it had been posted.:mad::mad::mad::mad:

Guy from New York sent a flatbed to pick it up. I had several people who wanted the car, another showed up at my house at the same time that the wrecker pulled up. It was a good car for a long time, I only wish that they weren't so rust prone. Has to be the best drivetrain of all time. And it never got less than 30 MPG. :o

Yes, I sold a 79 240 4 speed a while ago and have been looking for a replacement ever since. I got 30 in mine as well. $500 seems to be that magic number. I bet if you had been asking $1000 the crickets would have been chirping. Sorry you had to let it go. They are out there still though.
