Please be careful about that 5-speed. I found this ad poking around:
1978 MERCEDES BENZ 300D-NO RESERVE-DIESEL-5 SPEED-RARE BARN FIND-ALL ORIGINAL Same photos, different year, but at least it has the VIN.

I would be willing to bet it is really a 4 speed but the flipper either doesn't know or is flat out lying about it. Either way it looks like a nice euro. Not worth $$$ with the body damage but still a nice W123

After moving to CA and seeing euro W123's at least a couple times a month FS, this one is unimpressive. Plus it's just fishy in general, this one in particular. And Merc diesels are mightily under-valued out here, they probably bought that thing for $500..

I emailed the guy and asked him and he swears for sure it's a 5 speed. Then says the mechnic told him. Which makes me believe he has no clue.
