Looking at this '84 380SL
I am considering bidding to purchase this '84 380SL.
Sure the price will be low and this was extremely well kept in and out. See from the picture there was a fire in the air filter area. I am not too familiar with gas engines. Does anyone have ballpark idea what damage this could be and what repairing it may entail? I know it is just 1 picture but this is what I have. AA

Probably need to replace all the wiring under the hood, all the hoses, sensors, air filter, fuel lines, etc.
You also need to repair whatever caused the fire. Could it have been a fuel leak? I had a fire in my GTO caused by somebody doing a shoddy job on the valve cover gaskets. The oil dripped onto the headers and caught fire. I caught it quickly, but still had to replace almost everything plastic or rubber under the hood...
