I lowered the price today. $3300 with the 4 speed conversion and $3000 without the conversion.

I really think you'll regret your decision switching to newer BMWs.

You'll probably need to keep this one as a backup car while you're constantly fixing the BMW.

Having owned several BMWs, starting with the first 3 series E21 all the way to a short lived hate affair with a E46 Series, I couldn't agree more.

It's all a myth, the cars are fun to drive for about a month until the reality sets in.

Subframe problems on the three series e36 and e46, broken door handles that cost a fortune, marginal cooling systems on motors that can't tolerate moe than minor overheating, vanos problems, rear shock mount problems, depixilated gauges, suspensions that wear out every 50k miles, automatics that lose reverse, leaking evaporators, dual mass flywheels that cost a fortune and can't be turned at the machine shop so guess what? You have to buy a new flywheel every time you do a clutch........

I'm talking about post e30 models, the e30 is a great car but most have been abused to death by this point.

I wouldn't want another BMW for anything in the world, great cars under warranty. A real pos after the warranty runs out, ever wonder why new ones depreciate so fast?

I kept my 1982 320i, but swore after owning a 330ci for a month that we would never buy another one. The parts and tools are nearing Porsche prices, and the quality is nearing VAG levels. Not worth it IMHO.

Thanks Ed

Always good to hear from an actual owner who can make the comparisons. I've only ever owned Benzes, but you do always wonder about the sporty looking BMW's that seem to have proliferated our highways more than the MB brand.
