1985 500SEL - Fix up or part out - DC Area
 

My once pretty nice '85 500SEL got wrecked (by me). It is strictly front end damage--core support, hood, bumper, wrinkled the fenders a little, radiator, fan, condenser. I have all of the replacement parts to fix it (in a different color) but never did it. If you have the slightest welding ability, you can replace the core support and then everything else bolts on. I would love to see someone fix it and drive it.

Two other unfortunate things happened while it sat: mold started to grow inside, and a branch fell and dented the roof by the back glass.

The good: many mechanicals have been done. Here is a partial list:

-Upper timing chain guides and new chain
-New front shocks (Bilstien HD)
-Newer brakes all around
-Drive line center support/bearing/flex discs
-Rear subframe mounts
-Wheels repainted in Astral Silver (MB 735) and Toyo Touring tires with lots of thread. Have a higher speed rating, don't recall right now which. At least 130mph.


Make me an offer. I need it gone. I will not be parting it out myself.
