1971 280SE W108 with $46,000 in receipts
I have the rustiest most god-awful 280SE you can imagine. You can connect the seat bolts from the bottom of the car by reaching in through a rust hole. The good side of it is that it came with $46,000 in receipts from the past 7 years / 20,000 miles including an $9,000 engine rebuild (pistons and all), metal fuel lines, fuel pump (new), shocks (new correct), injection pump (rebuilt) and lots of other stuff. I bought this as a parts car and it's a great driver. I suspect that if I jack it up by the jack points it might bend a little. SO MANY RECEIPTS going back to 1976. Interior and exterior are not worth photographing. This is a parts car. A damned expensive parts car. And the project that I wanted to use this on probably no longer needs a parts car. I basically bought this for the rebuilt engine. About 2" of receipts.
If you have a rust-free 108 body with a crap drive train, this is a car for you. $7000. Scott |
Oh, and FWIW, it's a euro car with euro engine and an automatic.
