1987 300TD wagon for sale

I am selling my beloved 1987 diesel wagon. It has 155k original miles and is in overall decent shape. It needs some tinkering, but runs extremely well. I purchased the car from my uncle, whom used to be a very active member here. He's from NH, but I can't remember what his user name was. I have a trunk of spare parts to go with the car. There is some rust, but very little. The paint is original, but the clear coat is peeling on the hood. The car is an automatic. I have the title and 2 keys. I'm sure there is a lot of info that I have missed, but I welcome all inquiries. I am asking $4500 OBRO. I'm new here and can't figure out how to resize pictures to post. I have a couple that I would be happy to email.

The car is located in keene, NH and this link has a couple photos. http://m.imgur.com/a/g2ONx

need more info, pics

Please don't be offended by my response, don't mean to be too critical, but I would like to know more about this car in particular before spending time and energy on it. You probably would get more responses if you provided enough information and photos for potential shoppers to get a better sense of what is being offered. The folks on this forum know these cars in general, but need to know the particulars of any car being presented here to even consider their purchase. You mentioned the previous owner was active here. Links to any postings which might give some of the car's history would be helpful and appreciated as well. Also give us a sense of the spare parts mentioned.
I have been seeking a good, and affordable, wagon like this, but need more info than has been provided to go any further, and I'm sure I'm not alone in this.

Thanks in advance for more photos; interior, under the hood, underside of body, etc.. and more info on current condition, good points, bad points, would also be appreciated.

I will do a thorough write up of the car and take pictures inside, outside, and underneath the beginning of the week. Sorry about the lack of description. I don't know much about the car other than there are not many of them in existence and it's fun to drive.

I would be particularly interested in anything that helps validate your mileage claim. The odometer picture bears the classic hallmark of alteration. The mid-misalignment of the first number happens only when the number cog has been separated from the next and then put back misaligned. Additionally, the speedometer faceplate screws evince marring, i.e. they have been removed, which is necessary to access the odometer cogs.

First, I had to shake my head when I noticed I was last on here 2012! The gear in my former (subject in this thread) stripped when I attempted to reset the tripometer while driving (I was a complete newbie to MBs). The faceplate screws shouldn't show any marring, since I used the proper tools during the replacement...not certain if I attempted prior to purchasing the correct tools. I believe the 300TD accumulated about 200 miles while I waited for the replacement gear.

I also remember NHDoc...and the tool loaner program (I'm the one that added the timing chain crimper...which, when a borrower decided to keep was retrieved thanks to this forums membership...I finally donated it to Brian Carleton...another former member, so as to keep it in this family.

I believe my postings will provide a fairly good history of my times with the '87 300TD T. I wish I could remember the name of the retired MB technician from Pennsylvania that I purchased the car. Flew to Philly, put the repair plate on the back, and drove it home to NH. My initiation to the world of fun!
