Since this forum was invaluable to me keeping this car on the road when I really needed a reliable car, I'm offering it for sale here first.

For sale as is: 1995 E300D with 307,000 miles. I bought this car in 2003 with 100,000 miles. Garage kept. I drove this car 75 miles to work and back in Washington DC traffic. It never left me stranded. The head gasket is failing at right rear of the engine. For now, it is only an occasional drip. There is no coolant in the oil and no oil in the coolant. I would love to keep this car, but I don’t have the time to devote to having an engine installed or the work surrounding a head gasket replacement. The AC compressor is not working. However, the AC worked fine all last summer. Also, the trans leaks from the B2 piston (already been sealed once). Paint is beautiful. Interior is outstanding. Starts easily.
Idles smoothly. 24 gallon fuel tank. About 30 mpg.

Changed oil with Mobil 1 Synthetic 15w40 every 5,000 miles (I’ve changed the oil and filter in this car myself more than 40 times)
Changed air filter every 10k miles
Always G-05 coolant
Replaced thermostat
Installed new thermostat housing
Replaced fan clutch (several times)
Replaced belt tensioner assembly (OEM MB)
Replaced belt tensioner spring and shock (several times)
Replaced water valve (aka monovalve) (OEM MB)
