Don't see many of those. I wonder what sort of damage it had to end up with a salvage title and why it didn't sell at $7500 on ebay but then be listed at a lower asking price on Craigslist.

Just curious MTU, have you owned any Benz wagons before? I'm a big fan and own 3. Still looking for the venerable '87 300TD.

I have 124 sedans, but w203 and w210's for wagons. I really like the ease with which the wagons drive and handle. And just my own personal opinion....I'm sure you'll hear different from others....but I think maintenance and repairs are easier.

Would this '06 fall in the w211 or w210 category?

Maybe a dumb question...... maybe I''m not reading this right....but. why does the C-list write-up say 109,728 miles, but it looks like the pic of the odometer says 186,722 km. I forget the ratio for transferring kilometers to miles, but I don't think 186k km = 109 miles??????????????? Or does it?

a klick is about .62 mile iirc, so 186k kilo = about 115,000 miles.

That tow hook in the back really inspires confidence. Seller left it in because he needs to use it frequently? I'd stay away from the 03-06 models just because of the brakes. Otherwise, with salvage history, $3000 tops if everything works fine.

I wonder what caused the salvage title? Flood, accident?
My wife drives an 2004 E320 wagon with those wacky brakes everyone was concerned about. But they have been fine after 110K miles. The pump groans a bit on first start up but otherwise all good.
The 211 wagon is a very smooth riding and driving car. I enjoy driving it.

This car is very disconcerting; tow hook, eBay drop-out then put on CL at lowered price, salvage title, etc

Smells kinda bad to me..
