1987 300D for sale $1,000 - Ohio

Selling my 1987 300D that I've owned for 10 years. The car has been sitting but I start it periodically. The car will be sold running and driving. It may very well need some stuff related to it sitting but I'll have the car such that you can test drive it when you come to see it. I drove this car several hundred miles a week between Columbus and Cincinnati when I was in school and I've driven it as far away as Naples, Florida, the car was always a strong runner.

252,000 miles on the ODO currently, located in Columbus, Ohio 43224. $1,000. I'm fairly firm on price because the engine and euro lights are likely worth that much or more if I parted it (which I don't care to do). Has some upgrades in the suspension as well that stay with the car.


Car has had tons of new parts. Around 150,000 miles both the turbocharger and the transmission were rebuilt. I changed the engine oil way too often, and changed the transmission fluid annually after I got the car at 174k. So the rebuilt parts have been well cared for.

Has 4 piston front brakes of a 1995 E320, but I did not update to the newer style lower control arms, so I cut the rear dust shields. In the trunk are two un-cut shields because I planned to return the car to stock.

Car has Sachs lowering springs on it, stock springs are in the trunk. Car has a sportline front sway bar on it, I have the larger rear sway bar that is not installed that I can throw in for a few extra bucks.

My sister scraped a wall with the car and tore up the passenger front fender. A new rust free fender is in the trunk, and yes, its an 87 300D turbo fender.

Car has sportline subframe mounts, I rebuilt the injectors with Bosio nozzles, it has a new radiator in it, AC compressor was done a couple years ago (I doubt the ac works from as long as its been sitting), it has those factory add in foam wedges in the front seats, etc. This was my first Mercedes and I did a lot to it, I'm sure I'm forgetting many things.

Car has a fair bit of rust all around it, though nothing structural. I also am pretty sure the car has a rebuilt salvage title. Paint clearcoat has failed all over the car.

Daily it until it rusts away then pull the drivetrain, or make me feel good and save it.

Would that I were closer. That car solves a few of my problems and would supply most of the necessary parts for my rust free 87... and I really like that interior color. Shipping it to Las Vegas is probably prohibitive. But I'll look into it.
