Due to financial circumstances not related to the car, I am contemplating selling so I can pay some back-bills and get into the green. I flew out to Oakland CA in January and drove 750 miles back to Phoenix in the 300D and I swear it rode better and the seat was more comfortable than the 88 560SEL I had a year ago. It's midnight blue with grey MB Tex interior. It has 245k miles on the original #14 head, but has no cooling or pressure problems whatsoever. In fact, it ran cooler than any other Mercedes I have owned on the trip back to AZ, which was nice. It had the trap oxidizer recall done at some point in the past. I just completed a diesel purge with LiquiMoly and then replaced the inline pre fuel filter and main fuel filter. It also has a bunch of new fuel hoses under the hood. I replaced the OVP relay as well, and the air filter is new and the coolant expansion tank cap. It starts right up and purrs without a problem and has plenty of power. I also just replaced the transmission modulator and adjusted it to feel and also adjusted the bowden cable. Together, it shifts quite well now. I also just changed the engine oil and filter a few miles ago. I have also changed a few small things, like interior light bulbs and i did a mild rebuild of the instrument cluster where I used a nicer housing with better prisms and painted the needles orange, and changed the broken ambient temp display. The car has an aftermarket radio, but will come with an original 87 Becker unit that I pulled from a junker along with the wiring needed to re-install it. It's a great car with decent colors, but it is not perfect by any means. The A/C is not currently working and I have not gotten to it yet, but the system looks to have been properly converted with a new r134a compressor and a new looking expansion valve. The ACC unit also looks to have been replaced with a newer refurbished unit, I'm guessing when the A/C was converted. What should I expect for an asking price for this kind of car? Thanks guys.
