1995 E300 Diesel Special Edition

https://minneapolis.craigslist.org/hnp/cto/d/minneapolis-1995-mercedes-benz-e300/6950475620.html

$3000 OBO

Mechanically perfect, drive everyday or anywhere with confidence. 15 years with me, it's been a rock, like all the late model W124s.

You might want to add a photo of engine bay and trunk to your craigslist post.

Someone might ask what happened to the original six hole Special Edition wheels (not the eight hole you have pictured).

GLWS!

Over the years, we've owned all the W124 diesel versions.

My favorite overall, was our 95 E300. To me, the 94-95 W124 was the high water mark for the chassis. The 95 we had was a great hiway car, though the lack of a turbo was a minus in town. Nowhere near the grunt of the 87 300TD (my wife's favorite). But once up to speed, power was decent. That big fuel tank can outlast your bladder a couple of times over!

Looking through the pics, it's hard to believe the car would have even half the miles admitted to. Obviously well cared for.

Good luck with the sale, wish I could justify it for myself!

Jim

Well, I have those photos if someone asks, we're limited on numbers. The wheels are long gone, they went with the E320 wagon to Florida back in 2010. I never like them much, preferred the standard 8 hole option, and these 15 holers are in new condition. 25 years in, it is what it is!

Thanks for the feedback,
Mark

I feel the same way about the 124s from 94-95. The multitude of bugs were worked through, the seats were much better than the original 87-93s, the HVAC was much better, and the damn thing never overheated like the 124.133s did. I loved the torque of the 87, but what a total POS. I literally fixed every system on the car, this 95 has been sooo much better, but what I wouldn't have given for a Turbo, but I often wonder if it had been a turbo, would it still be so solid at 335,000? I just did a full transmission service and the pan was unbelievably clean, and the oil stays grey after a change for a good 6-700 miles, the old 87 suffered from rotten circulation and that stupid trap oxidizer, which MB deleted for me from the manifold to the tail pipe labor only!

Thanks for the feedback,
Mark

Is there any rust on the car?

Yes, there are blisters here and there.

Behind the headlight on both sides in the engine compartment, not the fenders, but the sheetmetal substructure behind the fenders. It has rusted through there, but not anywhere on the surface or the underside of the car. Still has all the encapsulation coverings too.

I've got about 135 photos total, let me see if I can get a link to you.
