SOLD - 1995 W124 E300D - $1200!

It's not pretty, but it's all there and functional for the most part...this is the CL ad copy, so expect all of the typical tongue in cheek comments:

1995 Mercedes-Benz E300D W124 chassis diesel sedan. This is the venerable W124 non-turbo diesel model that is often referred to as the "cockroach", as it will be one of the few things working after a nuclear attack or apocalypse of just about any sort. Super simple OM606 normally aspirated five cylinder diesel that you just can't kill. You won't win any races, but you will pass a LOT of gas stations while you get 30+ miles per gallon. Cheap to operate and maintain, this car has a lot of miles (292k) on it, but a lot more to go with one of the rare "Zündfolge million mile" diesel engine from Mercedes-Benz.

Nope, it's not pretty and it's not perfect, but the price reflects this. Pretty much everything works but the (not so ICE COLD) AC, which has a leak somewhere, and a couple of window that need regulators if you even care about using them. Headliner needs to be redone and the low oil level sender replaced. Toss some dye in the AC, fix it and you're making ice cubes again. Regulators are cheap in the aftermarket or at the junkyard.

Tires are great, lights work, radio is good and it's had a number of recent repairs, such as new flex discs, driveshaft center bearing, front struts and upper strut mounts, and motor mounts, for example. It even comes with a bunch of parts I never had time to install, such as new rear shocks, a full set of rear subframe bushings, differential mounts and a few other odds and ends. I'm a 25+ year Mercedes enthusiast who takes care of the work on all my cars, and can answer just about any question you might have about this one.

CL copy is here with pictures:

First $1500 drives it away.

Isn’t “zundfolge” just firing order in German?

It is. The ad copy has a number of tongue in cheek puffy shirt car ad references for fun.

I want it gone. Now $1200 to the first taker by Monday or it goes to CoParts or donation to my local NPR station.
