Have a smoke silver with red interior 87 300D. My guess is it has around 230-240,000 miles, odometer quit. I bought the car for the engine several years ago, hoping to transplant it into a 86 euro model or 350sdl. It doesn’t look like I’m going to be able to do it with my work and constant around the home/farm projects.

The high point of the car is the engine. I have done a lot of work and replacement of parts. Has a #17 head with no noticeable blow by at the oil fill cap, runs right at 80-85 Degrees. Since I’ve owned it, I’ve replaced the glow plugs, tensioner shock, tensioner idler, tensioner, water pump, a good used updated vacuum pump, newer used alternator, fuel filters, air filter, new fuel lines, new overload relay, new battery, new tires, upper radiator hose, new coolant tank, and fresh zerex coolant. Has a newer plastic fan and fan clutch. I never got to replacing the injectors. The engine pulls strong and the turbo spools up nicely.

I drove the car for a little while till the plates ran out thinking I was going to do the swap so it sat for a couple months. It starts right up, shifts and drives well. It does have rust on the outer rocker panels and a section on the passenger side fender behind the marker light. I treated it with rust converter. I tried to get the power seats to work. I took the switches apart and cleaned them to no avail. I think I have it narrowed down to the memory module. The hvac fan does not work have not investigated it. I had to remove the ac compressor due to the clutch going bad. I installed a smaller belt to bypass it and I have the compressor to throw in also new conti belt. Also have a compressor from a 90 300D I can include plus engine bracket. The interior is in good condition with minimal noticeable wear.

I have some depo euro lights installed and also have the Febi driveshaft flexible couplings and transmission mount and motor mounts to throw in plus many other part item to throw in. Struts, strut mounts, hvac parts. I will give everything I don’t need for my euro.

I’m trying to get down to my favorite and daily driver 1985 250D euro.

I’m asking $800 obo buy it for the engine and parts. Has a nice interior if your into red. Make me an offer I can’t refuse, I want to try and have a new home for it before winter.
