I have a very nice 1980 300sd with 273k miles. The runs great with lots of records back to the 80's. I have had her for 5 years and have replaced lots of parts, Rear axle boots, engine mounts and dampeners, steering coupler, rear trunk seal, thermostat all hoses and belts. Ac compressor o rings ( still R12 system) 27lb jug of dupont R-12 can be purchased also for a price. Only Liqi Molly oil run in this car. has like new Michelin tires. Paint is yellow with alot of clear coat missing. Paint is in good condition, interior is clean. No cruise control and climate control works Kinda, can explain that to serious buyers. It has been an AZ car so rust is non existent, Dash has cracks. She has never left me stranded and hate to give her up but retirement and lowered income tells me it's time to move on. Some spare parts included. Trany has a leak some where. I'ts not bad just annoying. My dad had one identical except it had around 180K and great paint. Sold it for $2400 which took quite a while to find a buyer for. Just a point of reference.

He should have posted it in California, they go for 5 to 9K in this condition. If you can find one.

I don't think so... The only place that I can think of where cars sell for top dollar is Bring a Trailer, but some cars also sell cheap there and I doubt they would take this with a reserve.

They wouldn't take it for a lot of reasons, mostly miles and exterior condition. BaT is pretty picky about what they accept to list on the site, however, it's going to get interesting in the next few weeks as the queue from the "good old days" is thinning out and a lot of people are watching their savings implode.
