83 240D 4 spd

Just bought a '83 240D 5 speed. 268k, been serviced by local Mercedes dealer, have books. Has manual sunroof, power windows and locks, cold air, cruise, alloys. Will get a new battery and radio--the old ones are bad. Blue interior, driver seat has 4 inch tear in bottom seam. Driver's weave mat is worn. A few small cracks in the blue dash. Exterior is very nice.(bluish silver) Everything works and I would rate this car a 7.5 out of 10. I have a '84 190D2.2 that I am going to keep so I need to sell the 240. If you want a "pure" 240D this is it. $3000 Less if I don't have to put a radio in it. email= parknsell@juno.com

Mistake 240D is a 4 speed

My mistake. This car is a 4 speed. My 190D is a 5 speed.

I'm jealous...

I have an '83 automatic, and as this was the last year the 240 was offered in the states, it's my understanding that all were equipped with automatic, sunroof, AC, stereo, etc. Be interesting to find out about yours.

The most perfect car I've ever owned or am likely to own. Enjoy!

240D sold

Sold my car in local newspaper. I thought for sure one of the readers of this site would snap it up. I'd heard such great things about the 240D 4 speed I bought one. I prefered my 190D 5 speed and sold the 240D. The car was bought by a man who had a 75 220D and he was sold as soon as he saw it. Drove it and never cut me a dime. Brought $2250.00 Thanks

240D 4 speed

I just have to say that the 240D with manual 4 speed has to be one of the best cars ever built !
I drove my girlfriends for 4 months, untill she sold it,and wish I would have bought it!
It is surely missed and not too easy to replace, especially with a sunroof!
